Getting to Paris

Flying to Paris is easy! There are two airports and lots of airlines to choose from.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the larger, more popular Paris airport. You can fly from pretty much any major airport in the US to CDG. Air France, any American carrier, and even a few other discount airlines fly to CDG direct from the US. It's very easy to use your points to fly to CDG. Text or email Sam for help in the points department!

Paris Orly Airport (ORY) is smaller but not to be overlooked! You can fly direct to ORY on French Bee (a budget airline) from Newark, LA, SF, and Miami. If you're feeling swanky, an airline called La Compagnie flies their all-business class planes direct from Newark to ORY.

If you're coming into town on Friday morning and plan on coming straight to Joigny, ORY is slightly closer and more easily accessible via the train.

Getting to Joigny

There are two main methods of getting to Joigny: train and car.

If you choose to travel by car, things are easy. You can rent one from the airport or somewhere in the city. There is ample parking in Joigny around the accommodation and at the Chateau. You can also hire a car service to bring you to Joigny. Either way, the drive from Paris is about 2 hours.

The train to Joigny takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and departs from Gare de Bercy in Paris, accessible from the 6 and 14 Métro lines. Trains typically leave every hour, but it's best to map the route out in Google or Apple Maps to be sure. The station in Joigny is simply called Joigny.

Transportation in / around Joigny

Taxis and Ubers can be difficult to get in Joigny, but fear not! We'll have shuttles organized to pick you up and take you where you need to be. If you choose to rent a car, that provides more flexibility (though you can still take advantage of shuttles to and from the venue).

AKA our wiser guests…

It’s worth noting that Joigny is a small, rural town that moves at a slower pace and is a little off the tourist track. As a result, Airbnbs outnumber hotels and some of the hotels may not begin taking reservations for September 2026 until January or February. If that’s the case with your desired accommodation, we suggest marking your calendars to book when they become available. If you have any questions or would like some recommendations,
feel free to contact us!
